How to Make your Front Garden Stand Out

Trail a climber around your door

  • Using a climber around your door will frame your door and draw the eyes inward. The use of green foliage will also soften to appearance of your home and helps newer properties to appear more established. To do this successfully, provide support in the form of wires or trellis and keep on top of pruning. Prune twice a year in July/August and again in January/February.

Re-paint your front door

  • Repainting your front door is one of the quickest ways to give your home a refresh. Choose a colourful, on-trend shade to help your exterior stand out from the crowd and draw in those potential buyers! For best results, thoroughly clean the door first to remove any dirt, dust, or grease, then scrape off ay loose paint and lightly sand the door so the paint has a good surface to adhere to. Select a good quality wood paint and apply two coats/.

Tile your garden path

  • A tiled pathway that features a geometric design in muted colours will allow you to jump aboard the geo trend. Pair this will a freshly painted bright front door and potential buyer’s eyes will be drawn along the path to your home! Tiling is also a great, low maintenance option for your frontage as it will eliminate the problem of weeding and can be instantly spruced by a quick wipe down or power-wash ahead of viewings.

  • The right lighting can transform a property. Selecting on-trend up or down lights will ensure your property stands out as the evenings draw closer,

  • Hide away your bins as these will detract from your kerb appeal. Screen from sight using trellis, bamboo screening or building a shelter.

Following these simple tips will ensure your frontage stands out from the competition and could be the difference between enticing your future buyer inside and them simply passing your property by.
